Ron LaRose
Ron’s early years in surveying was working for Lee Lowell in Middlebury. This gave him the opportunity to establish his foundation in surveying as Mr. Lowell worked all over the state and his projects varied from mountain lots to swamp lots, major subdivisions, urban and rural surveys, and lake front properties. This variety in experience was invaluable in becoming a licensed surveyor. Ron also was a member of the Army National Guard and served three years in the Army in Germany. He retired from the military in June 2005 as a Lieutenant Colonel. His service consisted of 29 years commissioned service and 10 years enlisted service attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. Ron has been married to
the former Connie Bouvier for 38 years. They have two sons, Kevin and
Brett, and two grandchildren, Emma and Koby. He has been active with
the local Boy Scouts and is presently the Commander of American Legion
Post 19. Ron’s leisure time is spent hunting, fishing, camping,
and enjoying his grandchildren.
Seth William Kittredge
After completing my military training in 1999, I was employed at IBM with the manufacturing department until November of 2001 where I started working at South Mountain Surveying and Mapping as a land surveying technician. In July of 2004, I took a full time active duty position with the Vermont Army National Guard as part of the installation security force at the state National Guard headquarters. In April of 2006 I started a full time position as a land survey technician with Larose Surveys. My land surveying experience has consisted of most aspects of boundary surveying; such as field work and measurements, title research, and drafting. My land surveying experience with the National Guard has consisted of road layout along the California-Mexico border and numerous community projects within the State of Vermont where I have conducted surveys of access roads, athletic fields, and minor drainage structures. I have lived in Vermont
my whole life and can’t think of a better place to be. I grew
up in New Haven, Vermont and am a 1998 graduate of Mount Abraham Union
High School. I have resided in Vergennes, Vermont since November of
1999. One of my goals is to become a licensed professional surveyor
in Vermont. Again, I can’t think of a better place to be and especially
to be lucky enough to have a job I enjoy that involves a lot of outdoor
work in good old Vermont. Bart Hammond Originally from the state of Indiana, I graduated from the University of Louisville (Kentucky) with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice and a minor in Psychology in 1995. I joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1993. After graduating from basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina during the summer of my sophomore year of college, I spent two years as an enlisted infantryman in the Reserves. I continued to attend college full-time and obtained my commission as a Second Lieutenant upon completion of my degree and after graduating from Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Virginia. For the next four years I was stationed in Okinawa, Japan and Camp Pendleton, California as an aircraft maintenance officer attached to a helicopter squadron. I separated from the Marines in 1999 at the rank of Captain. Most recently, I served two years as an AmeriCorps member. I spent one year in Indianapolis, Indiana as a Peace Learning Facilitator, teaching peace building and conflict resolution skills to 6th grade students from the Indianapolis public school system. My second year of AmeriCorps was spent in Montpelier, Vermont as a Land Steward at The Nature Conservancy. While there, my duties ranged from marking property boundaries and monitoring conservation easements, to controlling invasive plants, performing trail work and preserve restoration. My time with The Nature Conservancy was a great opportunity to explore Vermont and it’s where I first gained training in areas such as researching deeds, monitoring easements, using survey map and compass, GPS, GIS and ArcView/Map. I have since begun an apprenticeship program through the state of Vermont for licensure to become a certified Land Surveyor. To date, I have been employed at LaRose Surveys for six months and look forward to staying on for years to come. |
